Welcome

WSSB takes great pride in providing high quality educational opportunities for blind and low vision students. The Irwin School programs at WSSB provide an access and opportunity-rich environment for blind and low vision students to experience growth in the areas of academic, social, emotional, and skills for independence. This handbook is a tool to assist students in benefiting from our programs and support students, families, and staff to effectively engage with WSSB’s Irwin School Programs.

WSSB recognizes that each student is a unique learner and may have additional needs beyond the scope of this handbook. In a situation of this nature, the educational team and school administration may consider modifying a student’s program and support (which will supersede the handbook) to help the student be successful.
