Meet Your Student Council 2024-25 School Year

Meet Your WSSB Student Council

Welcome to the heart of student leadership at Washington State School for the Blind (WSSB)! Our Student Council is committed to representing your voice, fostering a vibrant school community, and making a positive impact on campus life. Let's get to know the dedicated individuals who serve as your representatives:

President: Gabriel Maduro
As our fearless leader, Gabriel brings enthusiasm and vision to the Student Council. He's passionate about creating inclusive events and ensuring every student's voice is heard.

Student Council President also has the important and special honor of serving as the student advisory representative on the WSSB Board of Directors and Ex-Officio Board for the school year. This position plays an important role with the Board of Directors/Ex-Officio Board representing the student body of WSSB and bringing student perspective into conversations with the board and the superintendent. The student council president attends all but one of the meetings between the board and superintendent during the school year.

Vice President: Sadie Stephens
Sadie works hand-in-hand with Gabriel to support council initiatives. Her creative problem-solving skills and approachable nature make her an invaluable asset to the team.

Secretary: Hayden Stalder
Hayden keeps our council organized and informed. With meticulous attention to detail, they ensure that all important information is accurately recorded and communicated.

Treasurer: Eric Alaniz
Managing our finances with precision, Eric oversees budget allocations for various student activities and initiatives. His fiscal responsibility helps make our events and projects possible.

Member-at-Large: Kaydan Haskins
Kaydan serves as our Member-at-Large, representing the broader student body. Their role is to bring diverse perspectives to the council and ensure that the interests of all students are considered in decision-making processes.

Middle School Member-at-Large: Lee Rivera
Lee serves as the voice for our middle school students, bringing their unique perspectives and needs to the council. Their energy and fresh ideas help bridge the gap between middle and high school experiences.

Your Student Council is dedicated to enhancing your WSSB experience. We encourage you to reach out to any of our representatives with your ideas, concerns, or feedback. Together, we can make WSSB an even more amazing place to learn and grow!

Stay tuned for updates on upcoming events, initiatives, and opportunities to get involved. Your participation and support make all the difference!
