Welcome to Empower Camp at WSSB - Exploring Music and Mobility

Location: Washington State School for the Blind Campus and Community 

Get ready for an unforgettable week at Empower Camp, where we're thrilled to announce our theme for this year, Music and Mobility. 

Empower Camp 2025: Music and Mobility is an immersive program that combines the power of music with the joy of orientation and mobility. Our expert instructors will guide campers through a variety of exciting activities, workshops, and performances that will boost confidence, foster creativity, and create lasting friendships.

This exciting theme is designed to empower campers aged 11-14 with essential life skills while having a blast. This camp is designed to support blind and low-vision youth. Campers will stay overnight in WSSB's cottages and be supervised by staff 24 hours a day.  Our experienced staff will be there every step of the way to provide guidance, support, and encouragement.

Camp Highlights:

  • Orientation and Mobility: Learn valuable skills to navigate the world safely and confidently.
  • Music : Dive into various musical genres, enhance music skills, discover the basics of songwriting, performance, and recording.
  • Recreation: Engage in exciting recreational activities that promote teamwork and fun.

 

Camp Fee: $50 (Includes Empower Camp T-shirt). Payment due by June 10,  2025.  Cash or check payable to "WSSB".  Mail checks to the attention of Melissa Lile - 2214 E. 13th Street, Vancouver, WA 98661. Any questions regarding payment can be made to Melissa Lile at melissa.lile@wssb.wa.gov.
